Epidemic intelligence at global scale

A unified platform spanning five integrated workstreams — EIOS v.2, Anomaly Detection, Enhanced Web Scraping, Semantic Search and a Graph-Powered Category Editor. At its centre, an Agentic Causal Knowledge Graph maps 500+ entity types, surfacing associations not identifiable through conventional search.
EIOS monitors over 60 million articles and data points each month across global news, government bulletins and multilingual sources. The requirement: detect genuine early-warning signals within that volume, score anomalies with full AI reasoning visible to the analyst, and remain configurable by administrators without engineering involvement.
Analysts work from a live dashboard of scored, reasoned, source-linked signal cards rather than raw feeds. Detection sensitivity and alert thresholds are adjustable by administrators directly. During COVID-19, throughput increased tenfold within days without degrading signal quality.
Antiquities monitoring across the visible and dark web
A live system monitoring the illicit trade in stolen Egyptian antiquities — built with curator-informed NLP, version tracking and human oversight throughout.
Proprietary data scraping combined with an AI and NLP engine, with classification rules developed directly with British Museum domain experts. Automated screenshot capture and version-tracking logged every repost with textual changes flagged visually. The engine reduced 20TB+ of raw data to tens of gigabytes of actionable intelligence.
The Department of Egypt and Sudan needed to monitor the illicit trade in stolen antiquities across auction sites on the visible and dark web. Two problems defined the brief: speed — criminal networks listed items briefly before removing and reposting them with altered details — and volume — a high proportion of fakes generating significant noise.
Curators work from a live dashboard of filtered, flagged, source-linked listings with share, comment, prioritise and allocate tools built in. The Museum retains the full data archive as evidence, and is in discussion with Adappt on a next-generation platform with LLMs and natural-language querying.

Mission-critical infrastructure, nine years and counting
Designed, built and sustained the platform coordinating 360+ global institutions in outbreak response — migrated full-stack in 2024 without a major incident.
Adappt designed the original architecture from scratch, defined the operational data model and built all three subsystems — Knowledge Platform, public website and Learning Management System. Multi-layered access control and full outbreak-lifecycle workflows resolved the legacy limitations. In 2024, a full-stack migration to .NET and Blazor was delivered without loss of continuity.
GOARN coordinates 360+ partner institutions in deploying expertise to outbreaks worldwide. Before 2017 it had no purpose-built system — a SharePoint platform that could not support real-time collaboration, multi-layered access control or structured operational workflows. The governing constraint: operational continuity could not be degraded at any point.
The platform has operated without major incident for over nine years — across Ebola, cholera, MERS and COVID-19. WHO has never required a vendor handover or knowledge transfer. Adappt is one of four globally LTA-approved WHO software development partners.
